WordPress GPL Downloads — How It Works
WPPlugg is a download catalog for WordPress plugins and themes distributed under the GNU General Public License. WordPress itself is GPL-licensed, and the license extends to the PHP code of plugins and themes built for it — which means premium products can be legally redistributed once their code is GPL. Every file here is verified before publishing: integrity-checked, version-matched, and static-scanned. Free versions come straight from the official WordPress.org repository; PRO versions are the full premium packages, shared under GPL, with no membership or license key required.
What is GPL and why are these downloads legal?
GPL (General Public License) is the open-source license WordPress itself uses. It gives everyone the freedom to use, modify, and redistribute GPL-licensed software — including premium plugins and themes whose PHP code inherits the GPL. That is why redistributing these files is legal: the license travels with the code.
Are the PRO versions here the real premium files?
Yes. PRO downloads are the complete premium packages — the same files the developer sells — shared under the GPL license. They are not trials, demos, or feature-limited copies. Every file passes an integrity check and a static security scan before it is published.
Do I need a membership or license key?
No. There are no accounts, no memberships, and no recurring fees. Free versions download instantly, and PRO versions are one-click GPL downloads. Premium features that normally require a license key work without one in the GPL package.
Will I get updates when new versions release?
Yes. The catalog is refreshed daily — this page currently lists 5,148 products, and new versions are verified and published as they appear. Each product page always shows the newest version we have checked.
How do I install a downloaded plugin or theme?
Download the ZIP file, then in your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin (or Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme for themes), choose the file, click Install Now, then Activate. No extra setup is needed.
